Dubai's Dh20m Polo Homes at Arabian Ranches: life at the upper end
Polo. Is there a more upper-class sport one could be associated with?
Whether you like charging around on horseback and thwacking a ball or not, merely being close to the action generally means a certain level of success in life - that or being born into particular social circles.
So, it would make sense for a property development wrapped around a polo and equestrian club to be designed for those with grandiose tastes, and a bulging budget.
Two properties are on the market within Polo Homes at Arabian Ranches on the outskirts of Dubai, a neighbourhood tucked neatly around Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
The community consists of 71 Mediterranean-style villas which have fully customisable interiors. On the market with LuxuryProperty.com, one of the villas, priced at Dh15.5 million has a traditional, classic design, while the other, costing rather more at Dh20m is considered modern in its aesthetic.
“Stepping into each villa has a different feeling to it, just with a change in finishes and colour palettes," said Ruth Harris, the Arabian Ranches specialist at LuxuryProperty.com.
"Some homes have more of a traditional air to them, the sort of place where you might imagine having a formal dinner party or inviting VIP guests. Others are more laid back in their design and really embody the idea of a family home.
"In my opinion, Polo Homes is one of the most underrated high-end neighbourhoods in Dubai. The villas are of high quality and are reasonably priced, but there many, especially international buyers, who might not be as aware of them.”
The classic villa, spread across a 10,227 sq ft built-up area, features pale marble throughout and parquet flooring. The kitchen comes with white cabinets and stainless steel appliances, while outside there's a beautifully landscaped backyard with a pool and Jacuzzi.
The modern villa features funky black and white chequered flooring. The interior palette is more neutral with white tones throughout, while the kitchen has a 1970s vibe to it. Large wraparound balconies extend out from the bedrooms. This property is bigger, at 13,500 sq ft. Landscaping outside is yet to be done, but that allows the buyer to put their own stamp on it.
