Remember last year’s fitness challenge that saw people exercise for at least 30 minutes for 30 days? Well, it’s about to make a comeback.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced the return of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, set to take place from October 19 to November 17.

The goal of the challenge is to encourage people to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes and to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world

Like last year, a slew of activities to help people get moving will be announced, but the full line-up won't be revealed until early October.

Last year’s challenge saw more than a million people participate. Highlights of the event also included appearances from celebrity fitness personalities Cassey Ho and Kayla Itsines, as well as events such as The XDubai Spartan Race and The Colour Run.

A host of free sporting events were held in support of the campaign, including 1,500 free exercise classes at 85 locations, pop-up gym sessions at more than 75 venues across the city, weekend fitness carnivals and other community-driven activities.
