Sheikh Mohammed receives note from President of Chad; Sheikh Mansoor chairs Mubadala meeting - in pictures

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Hazza in Zayed, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa, Adviser to the UAE President, attended a wedding reception on Tuesday.

The event was hosted by Abdullah Al Dhaheri and Saeed Al Dhaheri to celebrate the joining of their sons to the daughters of Kareem Al Romaithi and Mubarak Al Dhaheri at the Armed Officers Club Abu Dhabi.

Earlier in the day, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Deputy Chairman of Mubadala, reviewed the company's financial statements for the first half of the year during a meeting at the Presidential Palace.

Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Mohammed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority and group chief executive and managing director of Mubadala, and other board members attended the meeting.

Elsewhere, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, presented the Independence Order (First Class) on Wael Gad, the Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE, on behalf of President Sheikh Khalifa.

The UAE President conferred the order on Mr Gad in recognition of his work to strengthen ties between the Emirates and Egypt. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the ambassador and commended him for his efforts.

Sheikh Abdullah also met with Zakaria Idriss Deby, ambassador of Chad to the UAE, in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. During the meeting he received a message from Chadian President Idriss Deby, which dealt with ways of enhancing bilateral ties, that he delivered to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The Chadian diplomat expressed his country's keenness to boost joint co-operation and praised the UAE's regional and global standing, reported Wam.

In Cairo, Egypt, Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, attended a consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers to discuss the latest developments in the region. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 150th session of the Arab League Ministerial Council.
